Curve magazine calls her “a comic to keep your eye on”
Sapna Kumar is a loud-mouthed, pint-sized Indian lesbian comedian. In her act, you’ll meet her disapproving immigrant parents and learn about her foibles as an out lesbian performer. Kumar did her first stand-up comedy tour at the age of 19 years old. Since that time, she has appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing 4” and on the Oxygen Network’s “Girls Behaviing Badly.” She is also a featured comedian in the film “Laugh It Up, Chicago!”. She currently tours regularly with Mikey O Comedy Productions.
Kumar brings her background in professional acting and improv to her stand-up performance. As an actor, she has worked at The Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago and toured nationwide with Chamber Repertory Theater of Boston. As an improviser, she has performed with ComedySportz Chicago and at Chicago’s ImprovOlympic. Sapna is not the kind of girl you invite over for tea. You invite her to the stage!
